By now it's clear. Sea Change Part II has come to a close. Ten days exploring the Gulf Islands. Yes we did continue across the border into Canada despite the less than hospitable approach to education and enforcement of the nuances of border crossings by sea.
In the end, the Customs experience was deemed a lively and interesting addition to the trip!
The outcomes of this season's voyaging were not quite predictable, but sensitivity to changing forces and the stunning beauty of Nature have yielded some familiar and a few unexpected conclusions.
-- Regular work can lead to a full wallet but an empty heart. Passions are meant to be pursued not cautiously dismissed.
-- Awareness of one's mortality can heighten the desire to pursue passions, but abilities must be kept in shape. Commitment and varying degrees of luck can keep many options open.
-- Be clear on priorities and what really matters and don't compromise. Family, friends, health, adventure... and of course saving the world seem a rightful order of things.
-- Ohana will be hauled and prepped for more voyaging. Running, biking, yoga, working puzzles, building a boat and maybe brushing up on French are on the docket. Connecting with others will fuel the passions for everything.
